Amphibious assault to confront the VC forces on the island
Significance/Notes:
This was the first ever amphibious assault performed by the ROK Marines. A landing force swept across the island while naval craft blocked escape routes. The enemy offered little resistance. Over 100 weapons were captured, along with ammunition.
